4A 1/16" bead type desiccant is for screens with a 8 x 12 mesh size. The actual bead size varies from .055 to .093. Because of the smaller pore size of 4A desiccant it is less subject to contamination but it has a lower absorbency rate then 13X. Bead size is another factor to consider due to the fact that you have more surface area in the bed for absorption with a 1/16" bead but the way the smaller bead compacts in the bed will restrict the air flow creating a pressure drop. The best temperature range for regeneration of desiccant is from 400-600 F. Sold by the pound so buy only the desiccant you need to fill your beds no need to buy extra that you will have to store.
